BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE

BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE

“The most beautiful thing you can wear is confidence.”

-Blake Lively

Do you want to participate in the competition?

Do you want to crack the examination?

Do you want to start a new business?

Do you want to deliver a speech?

Do you want to bounce back from a recent failure?

Do you want to stay firm on your decision when others are discouraging you?

Do you want to do something that you have not done ever before?

Several things you want to accomplish in your life. You are expecting dreams to come into reality. You are excited to get your goals. You wish to bring everything to your doorsteps. You desire positive outcomes in every area of your life. This all could be possible for you if you have self-confidence. Yes, confidence assures you success. It is a superpower you can perpetually have in your life. This is a common trait you will find in all great people in the world. It is a secret behind every successful story.

Whether you are a student, a teacher, a manager, a businessman, or an entrepreneur, you need the confidence to get done everything in your respective professional, social or personal life.

What Is Confidence?

Confidence is a feeling of belief and trust in your abilities and skills that cause you to accomplish the task. It is a positive sense of having the specific strengths to control challenging situations effectively. You feel sure about your competencies. It is a motivating energy flow that makes you ready for life's experiences. Your mind and gut get ready to act on the spoken words.

A realistic approach toward your abilities makes you balanced for possessing healthy confidence. When you are doubtful about your abilities either you have a little confidence or too much confidence. In such scenarios, you can be underconfident or overconfident. Underconfidence prevents you from taking risks and blocks your opportunities whereas overconfidence gives you an unrealistic feeling of superiority and arrogance.

Confidence brings a personal sense of being capable and competent. It creates stronger self-realization of your capabilities. It gives you a sense of having enough strengths.

“With the realization of one’s potential and self-confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world.”

-      Dalai Lama

Importance Of Being Confident

The great story of an American sprinter Wilma Rudolph can make you realize how important to have confidence in your life.

A premature child born in 1940, she suffered from polio at age 4. The doctor said that she would never walk again in her life. She tried to walk with the braces on her legs for years. She didn't stop and started participating in competitions. With her remarkable confidence, she could make her way to the Olympics and became the first American woman to win three track and field gold medals in Olympics in a single Olympics.

She fought against all the odds in her life and made her dream a reality. She could make it due to her belief in herself that she could do it. Her confidence brought the best out of her and became the live example of a winning spirit for the entire humanity.

You will find thousands of people around you who have achieved unimaginable things in their life with self-confidence. You require confidence, whether you are at the peak of success or struggling for the bread and butter. It has the power of turning nothing into everything. It can fetch you victory from defeat. You can create a world out of zero with confidence

“It is confidence in our bodies, minds, and spirits that allows us to keep looking for new adventures.”

-Oprah Winfrey

 How To Be More Confident

Being confident is fascinating and admirable. A person with a lot of confidence gets respect and attention. He influences others. He makes his place in the crowd. Confidence is a virtue.

Though it seems to be difficult to instill this attribute, the good news is that it can be developed with the proper direction and efforts. Do you want to be more confident? Here are 10 ways to get significant and remarkable confidence.

     1. Think about your past achievements

Look at your past and count your achievements. You must have so many achievements and good days in your past life. Make a list of all the achievements that have made you feel proud from your childhood to the present time. Remembering those glorious moments creates energy and positivity in your mind in the present. It helps you to regain that confidence.

     2. Focus on your strengths

You already have a lot of good things in you. Whenever you face difficulties or challenges you think about your weaknesses and feel helpless but when you focus on strengths, you start feeling positive and confident. To realize these strengths just think about the bad days and think about what helped you to come out of those days. Again, make a list of strengths you possess and think how can you use those to make a difference.

     3. Get proper knowledge

Knowledge is a superpower. Most of the time you feel a lack of confidence when you don’t have a proper and enough knowledge of the field that you are dealing with. If you don’t prepare yourself with proper input, you may lose confidence. Proper preparation prevents poor performance. Learning, revising, practicing, and implementing will make you knowledgeable and confident.

     4. Manage positive self-talk

What happens to you when you come across a difficult task or never before done task, you start doubting yourself. Being doubtful about your abilities makes you think negatively about yourself. Thinking negatively about own self is nothing but negative self-talk.

You talk to yourself more than anybody else. Your self-talk reflects in your behavior. You can’t be positive if you are telling yourself that you can’t do it. You must speak yourself positively. You should use such motivating and inspiring words to make you feel confident.

     5. Don’t compare yourself with others

Comparing yourself with others is nothing but you are insulting yourself. If you are comparing yourself with those who are excellent to you will make you inferior and that will result in losing confidence. See you are not less or more than anyone else. You are unique. You have your way of thinking. You have your approach toward life and your ways of handling the situation. You are not ahead of anyone or behind anyone. You are at the right place of your own. Don’t compare yourself with others but compare yourself with yourself. Comparing with your performances will boost your confidence as you will realize your improvement.

     6. Have a company of motivators

You are an average of five people you hang around with. You feel confident when you are with the people who motivate you. Encourage and offer help to you to excel in your life.

Think about the people around you right now and find how many of them motivate you to face the challenges in your life. You should be surrounded by energy providers. Only confident people can make you confident. Find such confident people and get in touch with them always.

     7. Focus on your body movements

Amy Cuddy's wildly popular Ted Talk from 2012 explained the way your posture affects how you feel, using "power poses" as a tip to increase self-confidence. Slouching and bending your head make you feel low confident whereas sitting or standing straight up and holding your head high makes you confident. Sometimes energy flows from the body to the mind. Change in the way you sit, stand, walk and talk brings a change in your state of the mind.

Next time whenever you want to feel this positive emotion of confidence make a slight change in your posture and gesture. You will find yourself full of confidence.

    8. Practice positive affirmations

Affirmations are well-prepared instructions. These are prepared according to your need. When you want to feel more confident give yourself positive instructions like ‘day by day I am feeling confident, I am full of confidence, etc. Instructions should be mingled with the emotion of confidence.

    9. Learn to handle the criticism

You will find yourself surrounded yourself by a lot of discouraging and criticizing people. People don’t miss a single chance of talking bad about you. They will demotivate you. They will point out your mistakes. To stay firm and to feel confident against such criticism you need to learn to handle the criticism.

Ignoring such critics is the best way to reply to them. Doing the best using your abilities can be the answer to their criticism.

   10. Set goals

Goals motivate you to act as well as make you realize your abilities. You feel confident when you act on your goals and achieve many of them. Goals are magnets they fetch you towards them. They provoke you to take action.

A sense of achievement brings you peace of mind and satisfaction. These positive feelings boost your confidence.

To be confident you must do whatever makes you feel low confident.

THE POWER OF GRATITUDE

     THE POWER OF GRATITUDE

Gratitude is not only the greatest of the virtues but the parent of all others.” - Cicero

Do you feel stressed out about the people, things, and incidents in your life?

Do you think that nothing is good in the present life?

Do you always focus on the negative side of life?

Do you feel that life would be happier with different types of people, things, and situations?

I know you do think and feel so. Most of the time you just think about your weaknesses. You focus on the dark side of life. You have fed up with the people around you which could be your parents, spouse, children, colleague, or boss. You have got tired of the things in your daily life that could be anything from a toothbrush to your home. You have grown impatient with the daily activities. You are not happy with your body and physical appearance too. You feel low due to the so-called shortcomings that you have invented. Your mind is just wondering about the things that you don’t have. This thought of having nothing useful with you is making you pessimistic.

You always want something different and bigger in your life and you are not happy with the present life. it’s ok to want bigger in life but being not happy with what you have now makes you negative. This feeling of always lacking something and ignoring the good things you have or taking them for a grant makes you more unhappy.

While thinking about the future and lackings in life, you forget the blessings you have got in the present. It is like focusing on the thorns and ignoring the flowers, thinking about the piercing of the thorns, and neglecting the soft petals and enchanting fragrances.

And the foremost thing is that you are not only becoming negative about life but you are keeping yourself away from the most magical and powerful emotion i.e., GRATITUDE. Gratitude is the life-changing emotion you can ever have in your life if you just adjust your focus from wanting to having and convert it into action.

What Is Gratitude?

Gratitude which is known as thankfulness or gratefulness is an emotion and action of appreciation by a recipient of another’s kindness, help, favor, or other forms of generosity. It is considering and acknowledging the importance of the people, things, and incidents you have in your life and expressing your deep thankfulness towards them for being in your life. it is paying the attention to everything which is making your life and appreciating it with deep emotion and action of gratefulness. It is embracing good things you have and praising them.

Gratitude has religious, spiritual, and psychological perspectives. Every religion teaches us to value our human life. Spiritually gratitude helps us to get connected with our own higher self. Psychologically it creates a very positive impact on our mind and body. More recently a branch of psychology named positive psychology has expanded research on the importance of gratitude. Researcher Robert Emmons has authored several writings on the psychology of gratitude, stating that being more grateful can lead to an increased level of well-being.

Steps Of Gratitude

Step 1 – first comes the acknowledgment of goodness in your life. you identify and realize everything positive you have in your life. You feel life is worth living. You start feeling the emotion of gratitude deeply.

Step 2 – Expressing your gratitude towards everything that could be any of your personality traits, people, things, and incidents in your life.

Step 3 – Adopting new behavior with everything that you feel and express gratitude. You feel the change in the way you look at everything. Your actions become more meaningful.

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.

– John F. Kenedy.

 Benefits Of Expressing Gratitude

As you start practicing gratitude magic begins in your life. This will make you a powerful person. You will start counting a lot of positive changes in your mindset and behavior.

Enhanced Well-Being

A large body of work in the early 21st century has suggested that more grateful people have higher levels of subjective well-being. Grateful people are happier, less depressed, less stressed, and more satisfied with their lives. They are found to be more joyful in the long term.

Improved Positivity

Before expressing gratitude, you have to think about the positive things in your life. This leads you to identify and acknowledge the positive personal traits, people, and things in your life. you realize the resources hidden inside you. You get control over the challenges. You find yourself positive and proactive. Long-lasting and consistence positivity is possible by expressing gratitude in daily life.

Better Relationships

When you understand the importance of others in your life and express gratitude towards them, their behavior becomes more considerate and positive towards you. You follow forgive and forget principle in your life. Giving thanks to those who help you and make your life meaningful strengthens your relationships with them. People become valuable to each other.

Becoming More Optimistic

Life is always full of problems and struggles. You may lose your hope in fighting the obstacles in life. you may see only negativity everywhere but as you start focusing on the good things in your life and expressing thankfulness for that, your life begins to flow with optimism. Your optimistic approach brings change into your response to the challenges.

Better Physical and Mental Health

Our mind and body are inseparable. Whatever good happens to the mind affects the body. Practicing gratitude makes the mind happier and calm. A peaceful mind makes the body more energetic. This positive environment nourishes every cell of your body. The individuals who express gratitude also demonstrate better sleep, fewer health care visits, and better nutrition. You enjoy physical health at its best.

Increased Self Esteem

Knowing that you possess all the good things you need to have for living happy life boosts your self-esteem. You start feeling better for yourself. It creates confidence in you. You start finding possibilities everywhere. You love yourself. You feel blessed.

The real happiness lies in knowing that you already have everything you need to spend life satisfactorily. Gratitude develops your self-awareness and teaches you how to value your own self as well as the people and things you have in your life.

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

How To Be More Grateful

Remember The Hard Times

You face a lot of difficulties in your life. When tough times get over you forget everything and everyone who helped you in hard times. You take for granted your own capabilities, people, and things in your life when life runs smoothly. Remembering those hard days will remind you of the importance of every hand extended to you to come out of the ditch of suffering and pain. When you realize the difference between where were you in the past and where are you in the present, your mind can easily get connect with the emotion of gratitude.

 Count The Strengths

Instead of focusing on the weaknesses, focus on the strengths. You have a lot of physical, mental, and emotional strengths. Understand the importance of each strength and realize how these good things have made your life happy and satisfied. How you have defeated the challenges using your strengths.

 Realize The Interdependency

You alone can’t live. You always need other people to lead your life. You are always depending on others to get so many essential things to spend life happily. Whoever and whatever you are, you are incomplete without the people and things around you. Your family, friends, relatives, and society make your life meaningful. Nature is there to nurture you. This principle of interdependency makes you realize what is the need of being grateful for everything you have and get your life.

Practice the Gratitude in Daily Life

You can practice gratitude with gratitude meditation and gratitude self-affirmation. While meditating think about the positive things in your life and express your gratitude deeply. Visualize every person helping you and express gratefulness towards them.  Make a list of all good things and give yourself suggestions that how grateful you are towards them.

Dear friends, make this gratitude ritual your habit. Let your subconscious flow unintentionally. You really have so much to be grateful for. You just need to know it.  This is the sure way of attracting abundance in life. Gratitude is vibration energy that can change your life.

“You have got a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say ‘THANK YOU’?”

PERSONAL GROWTH

PERSONAL GROWTH

‘Change is inevitable but personal growth is a choice.’

Bob Proctor

Once there was a beggar, begging beside the road. He used to sit on an old wooden box. It was his fixed place. He had been begging for a long time more than two decades. He had fed up with this intolerable situation but had no other options. Whenever he used to see the neat and happy men, he would abuse himself for not having such a luxurious life.

One day he was doing his work of begging when a monk stood in front of him. He was giggling looking at him. As the beggar asked him what he wanted, the monk asked him," how long have you been sitting on this wooden box?"  " Since I am begging." the beggar replied. The monk continued asking “Have you ever opened this box?" With the visible irritation he expressed his disagreement. The old monk insisted him to open the box. The beggar unwilling opened it. He got surprised to see the box was full of diamonds and jewellery. He felt ashamed of himself for not even thinking about opening the box. Now he was rich but half of his life was spent in begging.

This symbolic story makes us realise that how unfortunate are those who never look inside them for the entire life and waste their life. The real gems of life are hidden inside of everyone but a few realise it.

We always look for something outer side to make yourself precious. You think the branded clothes, fashionable ornaments or other materialistic things would make you a great person. But we forget the hidden treasure we have near to us. We are practiced to look outside but now time has come to look inside. And peeping into yourself promotes the personal growth.

Every change that takes place in your life begins within you. Until you don't bring a positive change inside, you can't expect the change outside. Growth is an inside out process. Your higher potential self grows from inside you just like a big tree comes out of a small seed. When you think about growing in all the directions in your life, you think of the personal growth. The personal growth is a cause to happy, healthy, wealthy and successful life.

The purpose of personal growth is not to get rid of all your negative thoughts, feelings and life situations. That’s impossible. The goal is to change your response to them. To grow so strong on the inside, that nothing on the outside can affect your inner wellness without your conscience permission.

    What is a personal growth?

A personal growth is an intentional positive change in your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social well-being.’

This definition clearly indicates the areas to focus on when you think about the personal growth.

Your existence is shown with the strong physique. As your age grows you find a lot of physical changes but you can make good changes intentionally. Sound mind lives in sound body.

Nutritious diet, proper exercise and enough rest can help you to maintain your physical growth balanced. You can keep away yourself from a lot of diseases which causes due to your life style.

2.     MENTAL GROWTH

“Mental growth is the strength of self-control, patience and understanding of others. Making force to be reckoned.”

It is all about your brain development. It includes your thinking process, comprehension, perception, logic, understanding and creativity. It is an ability to imagining, observing, making decisions and solving the problems.

When you find mental growth at its best, you deal with the life easily. You find in numerous ways to lead the life successfully. Mentally grown people achieve more in their lives. Reading great books, studying different subjects and being in company with great people can boost your mental growth.

3.     EMOTIONAL GROWTH

“If we dare reflect on our own emotions, they can build our intuition and fuel our every healing and our growth.”

We human beings are unique and different from all of the rest lives because we can identify our emotions and even, we can manage them. Everyone has to experience these emotions but the emotionally grown is the one who can manage emotions very well. Now it is proven that emotional management plays a major role in your success whether it is personal or professional.

Reflecting on your own life events, recognising and accepting the emotions as well getting ready to change them promote your emotional growth.

4.     SPIRITUAL GROWTH

“A life without problems would be a barren existence, without the opportunity of spiritual growth.”

Many of you think that spiritual growth is a part of second inning of the life. It should be considered after retirement. Young or adult age is not for this. May people misunderstand spirituality with being religious.

Spirituality is not all about visiting the sacred places, following the traditions, attending the sermons or reading the scriptures. It is simply finding your own self and connecting to it. It is meeting to your being. It is knowing the purpose of the life. it is seeking the peace of mind.

Meditation, developing the self-awareness and living in the present help you to grow spiritually.

5.     SOCIAL GROWTH

Human being is a social animal. You can’t live alone. You need to have people around you and in your life too. It is a must for everyone to socialise for living happy life. social growth is connecting well with the people. It is carrying the social duties properly to create healthy environment in the society.

Effective communication, developed interpersonal skills, understanding the people and following fraternity, equality and liberty make yourself able for social growth.

Human beings have developed themselves in different directions. They are extremely good in science, psychology, technology, artificial intelligence and so on yet they are getting hard in achieving the peace of mind. They are still struggling with living life at its fullest form. The reason is clear and loud that they are changing externally. They are stuck somewhere internally. The real happiness, peace and satisfaction sprout out of inner self. They need to make a move inside.

Now is the time to pause and peep into inside. It's time to realise, recognise and reconstruct. It's time to focus on yourself. Now ignite yourself to get desired life full of happiness and peace. Get set yourself on the way to the personal growth.
